Huge giant mushrooms, red mushrooms, mushrooms are growing everywhere in Bulgaria.
These are photos of a few of the Giant mushrooms found in the hills and mountain forests of Bulgaria.
The mushrooms are enormous as you can see from the photos of us comparing ourselves with the size of the giant mushrooms. The forest we took a walk in was almost untouched by humans, this is the cows domain plus of course a few giant mushrooms given space and time to grow.
The photo shows flies on the underneath of one of the giants while other photos show the beauty of the underneath of these fantastic giants
This enormous giant has a top surface resembling the surface of the moon! Moon Mushrooms!
I should go get some photos of these giants in the natural moonlight I shall wait for the next full moon
This giant mushroom seems to be competing with the pine trees in the forest!
This is a mans hand to show you the size of these giants, yes they really are mushrooms!
The photo left shows me in the photo with these giants so you get an idea of how large they truly are, the photo below you can see my doc martin boot again to gauge the size of the mushrooms!
and from real giants to these teeny tiny miniature mushrooms! These miniatures are blossoming all around the forest floors and out in the open hills of Bulgaria!
The photo above shows a giant red mushroom picked in Bulgaria the Bulgarian man who went mushroom picking, found enough to fill a carrier bag full of red mushrooms!
As he proudly stated ‘Extra!’ Giant Bulgarian mushrooms Here’s to giant red mushrooms! As for Magik Mushrooms, well I havn’t come across any magic mushrooms yet, photos to come when I stumble across them
We went for a walk in the forest in Bulgaria and encountered some pretty
Wild Mushrooms and some mushrooms with fungus growing on the fungus!
You can find many edible wild mushrooms growing in the hills and on the mountains in Bulgaria.
The photos here are of many varieties of wild mushrooms and we see many people coming along in their Lada cars braving the off road conditions to pick them!

These wild mushrooms grow naturally amongst the moss and cow dung in very soft natural earth.
Take a close up look at this little fellow photo above, you can see his eyes under a wild mop of hair and has a grimace of a smile!
Wild snarled up mushrooms – white mushrooms resembling sea urchins shells after the spikes of the shell has fallen off – twirley mushrooms plus beautiful bronze metalic mushroom bombs!
and there are plenty of pretty wild looking Japanese umbrellas resembling mushrooms!
This wild mushroom resembles a man of war jellyfish on a stalk!
YELLOW MUSHROOMS with a tinge of green!
These fantastic yellow mushrooms had a tinge of green and huddled together to form a tangle of mushrooms glowing sun yellow in the bright light on the forest floor

red mushrooms
yellow mushrooms
dangerous mushrooms
edible mushrooms
This is the first time I’ve seen red mushrooms, usually in nature red means danger, probably with mushrooms it means lethal danger, yet I saw some mushroom pickers actually picking only the red mushrooms!
So perhaps they are edible after all, I ain’t gonna be the tester here!
As you can see from these photos, there seems to be some sort of fungus on the fungus!
Please note that after receiving numerous emails asking if any of these giant mushrooms red mushrooms or yellow mushrooms, are magik mushrooms, I must let you all know, none (to my knowledge) are in fact magik mushrooms, they just look rather magik because of their size and colours!
A lot of these mushrooms are not only edible mushrooms, but mushrooms that command quite a high price too
I can just imagine a mushroom omellete with one of those giant mushrooms! might not have enough space in the frying pan for the eggs lol
The giant ones are Parasol Mushrooms (Macrolepiota procera)
they maybe parasol mushrooms, but boy i would need to grow me frying pan if i even considered a mushroom omelette!
are they edible?
