Bulgaria also has bats, these photos are of a bat with horns and sharp teeth!

This Bulgarian bat was living inside one of my house bricks.

We only knew there was a bat, when a wall had to be knocked down and during the demolition work, this bat fell with the bricks.

The bat was carefully lifted out of the rubble

and after a photo shoot to bring you the photos of this bat, it was release back into the wild!

the bat flew off into another part of the house, no doubt to find a new brick to sleep in.

Do bats have teeth?

Yes!

Do bats have horns?

Enjoy these few rare photos of this Bulgarian bat

I have since learned that these bats are a rare and protected bat in Bulgaria!
Nearby in the depths of the Rhodope mountains there is a bat sanctuary, and I visited the sanctuary!

  2. Luvitsa says:

Also, this bat, along with its batty partner, were set free to rehouse themselves in another part of the barn that was not demolished ;)

  3. Luvitsa says:

the pair of mating endangered bats are still around, they survived the demolition work and have rehoused themselves in another part of me little barn!

can be seen out hunting at night, strange call they have too, which I cannot spell :)
