HONEY BEES and WASPS!
I had been attempting to get a good photo of one of the thousands of honey bees in Bulgaria. Being too frightened of being stung by a bee to go too close to a bee hive, I bided my time. Settling for the photos at the top of this page of some bees and wasps pollinating some very beautiful wild flowers in Bulgaria
This beautiful looking honey bee landed right on my doorstep as it were!
The bee had come in to take a glance at itself in the dusty mirror... and what can I say, the bee gave me a great opportunity for a photoshoot, alas it wasn't so good news for the bee!
WARNING:
The photos further down, may upset some people so please dont view these photos if you are faint of heart or don't like looking at photos that may upset you.
You have been warned!
Perhaps it just got too cold for this sweet little honey bee. But it took one look at itself in my mirror and promptly rolled over and stuck its legs up in the air!
Perhaps its dying wish was to be famous! Well, here you go, photos of the dying honey bee as promised and warned about! Ok, I know this isn't a bee or a wasp, but as I'm unsure what it is, you get the picture anyhows!
This honey bee came from a swarm of honey bees kept high up on a Bulgarian hilltop. Earlier this season, the man who is owned by the bees, gave me some of the natural honeycomb, the hexagonal wax cells created by the honey bees. I didn't realise at the time, you are not supposed to eat the hardened honeycomb and I found that quite chewy!
There are many bees kept in Bulgaria and the honey they produce is absolutely fantastic!
Also the Bulgarians suggest using natural honey on cuts grazes and when a local dog had a poorly eye, a local Bulgarian spread some honey on the dogs infected eye. Within a day or so, the infection had healed, although the poor mutt had a honey gammy eye for a while!
Honey obviously has great healing properties!
