Lots of lovely coloured lizards, bugs with wings, some green spotted frogs dangerous to dogs and cats as they emit their red warts at the oncoming animals as their defense mechanism.
So far, I have captured photos of grasshoppers frogs n toads dragonflys n otters woodpeckers n birds bugs beetles n creepy crawlies cats butterflies n flies entire army's of ants n horses with their foals I have not managed to capture pictures of the Bulgarian Snakes before it shedded its skin! grass snakes or water snakes. By the edge of one of the many running rivers of Bulgaria, we saw a water snake rush away from us and the loony dog jumping in the river, alas I was not fast enough! One day I will capture the photo of at least one snake! Our friends saw a Bulgarian Otter on the day we took the photo of the otter set in stone.
There are no lions in Bulgaria, but high up in the wooded forests, there are warnings 'beware of the bear', I dont think I will be quite so quick in capturing a photo of a bear! But then again, you never know! Watch this space!

Luckily I managed to remove this tick before it did any damage, but the sheep drop their ticks in huge numbers and even though the dog in question had been treated with Frontline from the local vet, she still picks up these ticks regularly! The Dreadful news of the English lady mauled to death by a pack of wild dogs in Bulgaria breaks all the headlines with a lot of people finding this site as a result.
Our thoughts go out to the family of this English lady. Please also bear a thought for the stray wild dogs on the streets of Bulgaria, they are everywhere and reproducing almost daily. The Bulgarian sheep dog who has taken me on, is a female with the boys already coming round to get prime position on her! There are no vets in Bulgaria who can neuter her and the pill is seemingly unavailable for dogs!
Perhaps some mobile volunteer/charity vets could spend some time in Bulgaria to help with this alarming wild pack dogs problem?
The Bulgarians love their dogs, but what on earth do they do when their dogs mate? A huge Bulgarian sheep dog has adopted me, she's only 7 months old and the boys are already coming round vying for best position on her!

The Bulgarians love their dogs, but what on earth do they do when their dogs mate? A huge Bulgarian sheep dog has adopted me, she's only 7 months old and the boys are already coming round vying for best position on her!

BULGARIAN WILD SNAKES PHOTOS OF THE SHEDDED SNAKE SKIN SEE THE AWESOME PHOTOS!
So far we have seen a shedded snake skin, alas when we arrived back to take photos, it had been removed! After all it was a complete shedded skin! We also found this small rock with fossilised imprint of what we believe to be a rather large Bulgarian Snake! Although it may be the fossilised remains of another Bulgarian Creature! The rock is 8cms x 11cms and was obviously much larger once!
The snakes so far have eluded the camera! Now a close up of the photo of a fossilised imprint of what we believe was a rather large Bulgarian Snake! There are many wild snakes in Bulgaria large and small! SKIN photos NOW IN!
